New for 2020! Each Spartan Sprint, Super, Beast, and Ultra will receive a course rating. Each course will be assigned a number of helmets to designate its difficulty. More helmets indicates more difficult conditions. Ratings are assigned based on the following attributes.
1. Elevation Gain
2. Altitude
3. Terrain Type
4. Temperature - Based on yearly averages
MAX Ratings - An event that has 2 "Hard" designations will be receive the designation of MAX (Sprint MAX for example).
